Aluminium smoking stick

Product description

The aluminium smoking stick is a lightweight accessory for smoking trolleys and smokehouse chambers — sausages, frankfurters, kabanos and other cased products are hung on it and stay on the stick through the successive stages of heat treatment. The stick has a star-shaped profile that spaces products evenly and makes hanging easier.

Material and weight: The main advantage of aluminium is its low weight — its density is roughly one third that of steel. When product is hung by hand and an operator handles hundreds of sticks per shift, the difference is clearly noticeable and reduces worker fatigue. Aluminium forms a natural oxide layer that protects it against corrosion in the humid smokehouse environment.

Star-shaped profile: The shaped cross-section gives the stick its stiffness, so the lightweight design stays stable under a hanging load. The profile also helps keep consistent spacing between products, which supports even smoking.

Custom length: The stick length is agreed individually — it is matched to the shelf spacing of the smoking trolley so that the stick rests securely on both shelves. This makes it possible to fit sticks to trolleys and chambers with non-standard dimensions as well.

Cleaning and use: Aluminium is sensitive to strong alkaline and acidic agents, so aluminium sticks should be washed with products intended for aluminium. Being softer than steel, it is also less resistant to impact and bending, which makes it best suited to sticks handled manually at moderate intensity.

Compatible equipment: The sticks are used with our Z-type and H-type smoking trolleys, which are designed to work with both sticks and grids, and with smoking trolley shelves profiled for hanging sticks. For storing and moving sticks between batches, there is the smoking sticks caddy, which holds 250 to 300 sticks.

Aluminium or stainless steel? If sticks work hard and are washed with strong agents after every batch, the better choice is the stainless steel smoking stick made of grade 1.4301 — heavier, but harder and resistant to aggressive cleaning chemicals. The aluminium stick is chosen when lightness and ease of manual handling come first.
